Connect Groups
Connect to Community through weekly Connect Groups
Connect Church provides people with the opportunity to connect with community in order to fulfill the second aspect of our purpose statement. These “Connect Groups” give people an opportunity to share their lives with others in a safe and comfortable environment.
Each group meets in the home of a Connect Church member in the Lynnwood area on a weekly basis. Each Connect Group offers a time of fellowship over a meal, Bible study, prayer, and the opportunity for people to share what is going on in their lives.
Here are some important FAQ’s about our Connect Groups:
1. What are we going to do with our children during a Connect Group?
The first hour of the meeting they hang out with the entire group. During Bible Study each group will provide it’s own answer. Some groups may hire a person to watch the children in another room or simply rotate adults from within the Connect group to watch the kids.
2. Am I going to have to talk or can I just sit and listen during meetings?
A Connect Group is like family, sometimes you talk, sometimes you listen. No one is forced to talk or to lead the group. We all move at a different pace and you allowed to do just that.
3. Will I have to pray out loud?
No. Again, you are allowed to move, grow, at your own pace. If you ever feel comfortable voicing a prayer request or even leading a prayer you can do so.
4. How much do I have to know about the Bible?
None. Connect Groups are about learning the Bible not debating it or being tested on it.
5. If I don’t like it, can I leave without people being mad at me?
Yes, but most people build such community that they do not want to stop being part of the Connect Group.
