History

The vision for Connect Church began in the Nashville home of Dale and Tina Braswell in November of 2006.  The desire grew to create a biblical and missional church that possessed a simple purpose.  This simple purpose would allow church members to balance time spent in church related events and taking the gospel to the people in their community.  This simple purpose would also allow the church to be streamlined enough to focus the majority of its resources on ministry to the community and planting additional churches.  The name of Connect Church reflects the desire of the church to connect people to three of the most important aspects of the Christian life; Jesus Christ, community, and service.

Alongside this desire to start a church came the realization of the need for churches in the Lynnwood area and the Pacific Northwest.  The need for more churches in the least churched state of Washington drove the Braswells to consider planting Connect Church in the Seattle area.  Specifically in the Lynnwood area which is exploding with growth and development.

As the vision and structure for Connect Church began to crystallize so did the team that would help start it.  Three other families have committed to the difficult task of planting Connect Church.  These families have left behind friends, families, and careers in order to help take the gospel to people in Lynnwood and the surrounding communities.

In the fall of 2008 Connect Church began meeting in the home of Dale and Tina for a weekly Bible study.  Eventually this group transitioned to Sunday night services at Hazelwood Elementary.  Then in September 2009 Connect moved to it’s current location and began providing Sunday morning services at Roy’s Place Studios in Lynnwood.
